Rich, I thought you might enjoy the attached photo. I hunted last week and took a Merriam’s jake with the fowler near Colville, Wa. One shot, one turkey. Thanks for a great gun.

Rich, Having had the rifle for a few days I just wanted to let you know that I am even more pleased with it each time I handle it. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail is outstanding. The rifle balances perfectly and fits extremely well. Once the weather breaks in New England I will take it to the range for more than just a few test shots and I will let you know exactly what it can do. As I said at the very beginning of the process, I wanted a piece of functional artwork. This elegant Bucks County rifle you created is exactly that. I suspect when potential customers see it on the website you will have many more requests for this school of rifle. Thanks again.

Rich, The morning is getting away from me already so I need to stop for a minute to thank you for the fowler. I came back from my son’s game last night and spent about an hour going over it with Balistol. I was enjoying myself so much that I had to worry I might rub a hole in it. It really is a nice piece of wood and the carving looks great – thanks for that. All in all, it’s perfect for me. I probably will not be able to resist going to the range on Saturday. I will try to get a picture of the happy shooter to you. Thanks again for all your efforts and your craftsmanship. I hope the new pictures on the web will bring you a couple more well deserved commissions. Malcolm
PS I will let you know when I get that turkey.

Ed, I must confess that I don't have an extremely knowledgeable eye but, to me, she's an absolute beauty. I couldn't be more excited and anxious to get out and shoot which of course is her primary function that I hope goes well... Know that I'm currently a very satisfied customer. I'll probably spend the next several hours admiring your work. Jim

Dear Ed: Just want to take a moment to let you and your son know how much I enjoy my new E. Dillon Schimmel Flintlock Rifle. I ordered it from Track of The Wolf and received it last Wednesday. Due to rain here in New Jersey , I just had a chance to shoot it today. I can't tell you how much I like it. The large Siler lock ,Getz barrel and overall beauty of the rifles execution sold me on it. Just a few notes that you may want to know about. The pan only needed a very small amount of priming powder and after twenty shots, the flint looks just as good as when I put it in the jawls of the cock. After the shots, the area that is generally very dirty, was fairly clean. The barrel loaded fairly easy, using the rifles wiping stick, after using a short starter. Cleaning the rifle was a snap. One more thing. The trigger pull was excellent. I like the wide trigger. I like to keep my locks clean and oiled to prevent problems. Thanks again. Leon Gennett, Monroe Township, N.J.

Hi Rich, I got a call from the Post Office on Saturday morning. It seems they had a large box that wouldn’t fit in the VW delivery car. I went down and picked it up. What a beautiful rifle. It’s exactly what I was looking for. Long and elegant without being gaudy. It is light weight and will be great for small game hunting on my land. I wanted to sight it in but high winds and twenty degrees isn’t my idea of fun shooting. I can’t wait to get out and shoot it. I’m hoping for a little wild turkey breast to supplement Thursday’s meal. I could not be happier with this rifle. Thank you. Scott

My rifle arrived yesterday. It really doesn’t do it justice to refer to that work of art as a “barn gun”. You are truly talented in your craft, and I can’t describe how pleased I am with the rifle. I plan on taking it the Boundary Waters Canoe Area for a bear hunt in October, and for deer hunting in November. If I have any luck, I will send you some pictures. Can you give me any suggestions for loads, as I am not familiar with the abilities of the light weight barrel? We had talked earlier a little about it, but I don’t recall what you recommended. Any help you can give me to get started would be appreciated. Thanks for the opportunity to own such a fine rifle-I’m really excited to put it to work. Dave Trapp

Yes I finally got off my can, got everything needed and set up a 50 yard range in the yard. After taking around 10 shots I found that I was consistently about 5 inches low and was to the right or left a few inches but almost always along the same line. When my wife got home she took a few shots and went from thinking that it was a pretty gun to wanting one of her own. I loved the gun before I shot it but now I can’t wait until I get to the range to work on technique. We will be attending the monthly shoots of The Salt River Long rifles. Thanks for all the help and encouragement, I needed it. If you are at the Friendship shoot in the spring let me know so I can meet with you and possibly look at another gun. Marty

Hello, Just wanted to compliment you on your work. I picked up an Ed Dillon rifle from Track of the Wolf a couple of weeks ago and it is a fine little rifle. It is a .50 cal. half stock with a very dark finish on a beautiful piece of maple. I sighted it in last weekend and shot a match today and it performed very well. Keep up the fine work. Regards, Phil Slattery-- Tucson AZ

Ed, It was good seeing you at Dixon's. I hope that your business continues to prosper. Just wanted to say thanks for the Southern Mountain rifle. The 40 cal is dead on and a dream to shoot. I've have had more than one friend tell me that it was good buy and they have enjoyed shooting it with me. Thanks again, hope to see you at future shows. Paul Gosnell
