These Fusils were commercially manufactured in England by many makers such as Barber, Twigg, Griffin and countless others. They feature a slim stock, short barrel, and lighter weight. Some had provisions for a bayonet, sling and had a smaller bore. Modern collectors often call these "Officer's" Fusils. Some were heavily embellished and intended for an upscale military market but others were not. The term Fusil, Fuzee, Fusee, was a synonym for a flintlock musket or "Fire-Lock" and used by the English to denote a wide variety of light-weight guns. The time period for this Fuzee is 1750-1760 and features an amazing piece of curly English Walnut. A Getz 42" 16 bore barrel, Chambers Round Faced lock, cast brass mountings, and a hand made front sight of drawn brass. The trigger guard and side plate was cast directly from original parts. Sterling Silver wrist inlay copied from an original Twigg Fusil. Carving is in the form of a traditional shell pattern and all engraving was inspired from a collection of original guns. The barrel was finished to a French Grey patina. The lock was properly case hardened and lightly rubbed back. This gun was finished as new per the customers request.
