These unadorned rifles, commonly called a Barn Guns, were common place in the 18th century and were everyday rifles for the common man. There basic hardware consisted of a trigger guard, one or two ramrod pipes and usually no butt plate. Some were made with a simple flat brass butt plate or an over the heal butt plate to protect the rifle. They were usually kept in the barn at the ready, hence the name Barn Gun. They were made with the same care and accuracy as a fancy Pennsylvania Long Rifles were. These rifles were common to the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas.
The one pictured Made by Rich Dillon is left handed and features a Getz 43" .36cal swamped barrel, an incredible piece of Stump Wood, (upgrade p.o.r.) handmade sett triggers, hand made pipes, hand forged nail in the butt to protect the heal and a horn inlay at the toe.
Our standard rifle features a Getz Swamped Barrel, caliber of choice, flint or percussion, single trigger, brass hardware, and a nice Curly Maple Stock start at $1,695.00. Many changes can be made to fit your needs. Please call of email for details.
